The F-41X allows every component to reach its full potential. For example, using faster memory does not matter unless it is allowed to go faster. The Front Side Bus (FSB) on the F-41X operates at 1,800MHz; we match that with 1,800MHz memory. Some of our competitors may use 1,600MHz or even 1,800MHz capable memory, but the memory and the FSB are actually running at only 1,333MHz.

Ideal performance is achieved when all the components are in perfect synchronization: The FSB, the memory speed, and the CPU clock need to be in whole number ratios to each other to avoid missed hand-offs of data. All of this comes together in the F-41X: memory to FSB ratio is an ideal 1:1, The CPU to FSB ratio is tuned to exactly 9:1.

The F-41X makes no trade-offs with stability or component life span. CPU voltage, current, wattage (TDP), temperature, etc. are maintained at Intel recommended values.

Special Options

Operating System:
Windows XP is the recommended Operating System for desktop computers. Microsoft Vista has known and unresolved problems. We are not responsible for resolving problems with Vista that Microsoft has not resolved. These problems include: 1. Playing movies or receiving streaming video with more than 2 monitors active. 2. Difficulty re-loading Vista from the supplied CDs (It may require removal of some of the memory, and all but one video card and hard drive). 3. Incompatibility with your software. 4. Inability to maintain a VPN connection.

Second Boot Drive
The Falcon Second Boot option provides you with a second bootable hard drive. This option protects you from hardware or software problems. This drive is normally kept in a standby location. In the event you are having problems with software (Virus, corrupt files, etc.) or a hard drive failure, you can insert the second boot drive and be up and running for the trading day without a long delay. This drive will not automatically keep itself updated. If you order the Data drive then you do NOT need to keep it updated because it can be updated within 15 minutes from the data drive.

Data Drive:
When a Data Drive (Backup Hard Drive) is ordered, then you will receive an upgrade to the Acronis software that will allow you to schedule regular full-drive backups. These backups can be used to restore your entire hard drive to a replacement hard drive, if necessary. You can also keep several days worth of backups, allowing you to restore your hard drive to an earlier period. Unlike similar programs, the earlier period restoration can be used to scrub viruses from the hard drive (providing that the virus was not present in the earlier period).

Automatic Disk Defragmenting:
The automatic disk defragmentor option will keep your hard drive organized (defragmented) so that charts open faster and the system is generally more responsive. To work correctly, it needs to be configured to defragment outside your normal trading hours or when your screen saver comes on (if you use a screen saver).

Virtual Trading Room headset:
This is a Plantronics headset with high quality earphones and boom microphone. It is most commonly used in Hotcomm or similar voice enabled chat rooms. This headset will help you get into many online education or collaborative trading environments which use voice-based Internet communications technology.

Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware protection:
If this is a pure trading computer then you shouldn't need Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware protection. Otherwise, you should only use the two brands we offer (even if you don't get them from us). Many other brands of security software will pattern-check your incoming data, which will cause the data to arrive intermittently.
